In addition to the University's standard entry requirements, you should have:

• at least one A level (or a minimum of 32 UCAS points from an equivalent Level 3 qualification, eg BTEC Subsidiary/National/BTEC Extended Diploma)
• English Language and Mathematics GCSE at grade C/grade 4 or above (or equivalent, eg Functional Skills at Level 2) – if you meet UCAS points criteria but obtained a grade D/3 in English and/or Maths at GCSE you may be offered a University test in these areas

If you feel your qualifications or experience exceed the entry requirements listed above, you may be able to enter directly onto our Mathematical Sciences BSc (Hons). Accreditation of Prior Learning

English language requirements

To study a degree at London Met, you must be able to demonstrate proficiency in the English language. If you require a Student visa (previously Tier 4) you may need to provide the results of a Secure English Language Test (SELT) such as Academic IELTS. This course requires you to meet our standard requirements.

If you need (or wish) to improve your English before starting your degree, the University offers a Pre-sessional Academic English course to help you build your confidence and reach the level of English you require.

You’ll be assessed by a combination of methods, including lab-based tests, short answer tests, group assignments, problem-solving case studies, coursework, written reports, an individual portfolio, as well as the final year dissertation.

This course is accredited by the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications (IMA) for the purpose of meeting in part the educational requirement for chartered status.

On graduation you’ll have gained skills that will allow you to work in areas such as mathematical modelling, simulation, data mining, operational research or IT.

Our communications technology and mathematics graduates have gone on to work as electronics engineers, evaluation analysts and mathematics teachers at businesses such as Concurrent Technologies and Legal and General.

This course will also prepare you for postgraduate study in mathematics oriented subjects or teaching.

If you study your undergraduate degree with us, as a graduate of London Met, you'll be entitled to a 20% discount on a postgraduate course if you continue your studies with us.

This is a four-year degree course with a built-in foundation year (Year 0). It's the perfect route into university if you don't meet the necessary entry requirements for the standard undergraduate degree. You'll graduate with a full undergraduate degree with the same title and award as those who studied the three-year course.

Additionally, there may be other activities that are not formally part of your course and not required to complete your course, but which you may find helpful (for example, optional field trips). The costs of these are additional to your tuition fee and the fees set out above and will be notified when the activity is being arranged.
