The Centre for Professional and Educational Development (CPED) plays a central role in advancing the University’s social mission of transforming lives through education, promoting an inclusive culture, and enabling fair outcomes for our students by supporting staff in all areas at London Met in their professional and career development.
CPED offers a wealth of research-informed expertise, consultation, courses, resources and bespoke sessions for staff across the University, working collaboratively with individuals and teams to develop and enhance their professional and academic practice and identity. In partnership with other services, we provide staff with development opportunities to ensure they are able to contribute fully to the achievement of department and University objectives in the context of London Met’s strategic plan and values.
Our unique blend of expertise – ranging from organisational and leadership development to teaching and learning development and digital pedagogy – is steeped in a deep, long-held commitment to social justice and empowerment of staff and students as agents of progressive change. This expertise is fed into and across all of the University’s activities, including:
- staff development
- policy development and committee work
- taking forward our Education for Social Justice Framework
- the evolvement of creative and transformatory educational practice
London Met staff can read more about CPED on our staff pages [staff login required].
